Karachi to receive second ‘Strong Spell’ of monsoon rains from today
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecast that Karachi will receive its second strong spell of monsoon rains from today (Thursday).
The Met department said that ‘heavy to very heavy rains’ are likely to hit Karachi and different districts of Sindh under this system.
According to the Meteorological Department, a series of heavy rains will begin across the city from today which may last till July 18.
The new system will enter the city from July 23, with one spell after another coming by mid-August.
Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Mirpur Khas, Umerkot, Tharparkar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Nawabshah, Nowshero Feroze, Khairpur, Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Qambar during July 14-18 are under the influence of this weather system. In Shahdadkot, Dadu, Jamshoro, Shikarpur, Ghotki and Kashmore districts, thundershowers and heavy rain is expected at most places.
The meteorological department further said that thundershowers are likely at some places in Thatta, Badin, Umerkot, Mirpur Khas and Tharparkar districts today and tomorrow.
Meanwhile, heavy rains in Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Mirpur Khas, Umerkot, Dadu, Jamshoro, Nawabshah, Jacobabad, Larkana and Sukkur districts could face urban flooding.
