Karachi may receive more than 100 mm of rain today
The Meteorological Department indicates that there is a forecast of thundershowers in Karachi even today.
According to Director Meteorological Department, Abdul Qayyum, there may be moderate to heavy rains in Karachi today and the recent monsoon wave may continue intermittently till Tuesday.
The fifth spell of monsoon in different cities of Sindh including Karachi
Director Meteorological Department Abdul Qayyum Bhutto said that the intensity of rains may be high, with heavy rains in some areas and heavy rains in others.
He said that more than 100 mm of rain could fall in some areas which would also pose a risk of urban flooding.
The Director Meteorological Department said that intermittent rains are likely to continue till August 25.
In the fifth spell of monsoon, Karachi received more rain than the forecast by the Meteorological Department. The highest rainfall of 170 mm was recorded in Surjani Town, 88 mm in New Karachi, and 88 mm in Nazimabad. More than 85 mm of rain was recorded.
