Karachi likely to receive first rain of winters from Monday

Karachi is likely to receive its first rain of the cold season in the next 48 hours from Monday (November 07), according to Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD).
PMD says, a western wave is likely to enter the country from this evening (today), which is likely to bring winter showers in different areas of Sindh including Karachi.
According to the statement, on November 7 and 8, the districts of Jacobabad, Qambar Shahdadkot, Dadu, Jamshoro, Nowshero Feroze, Shaheed Benazirabad, Larkana, Shikarpur, Sukkur, Khairpur, Kashmore and Ghotki moderate rainfall is expected with light wind and thunder.
The temperature in the province is likely to drop by 2 to 4 degrees, PMD said.
It should be noted that devastating floods have caused havoc due to heavy rains in Sindh and Balochistan this year, where millions of people were displaced, standing crops were destroyed and thousands of livestock were also killed.
According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), 700 people, including children and women, have died due to the catastrophic floods across Sindh.
