Karachi Kings beat Gladiators, qualify for playoffs

In the 29th match of the Pakistan Super League season six, Karachi Kings have qualified for playoffs after beating Quetta Gladiators by 14 runs at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.
Earlier, Karachi Kings won the toss and decided to bat first. The Kings scored 176 runs while losing their seven batsman at the end of the first innings.
The Gladiator fought against the target of 177 runs but they were restricted to 162 for the loss of six wickets. Danish Aziz and Sharjeel Khan made 45 runs each and Mohammad Ilyas bagged three-wicket haul for the Kings.
From the Gladiators’ side, the skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed played unbeatable innings of 51 runs while Arish Ali Khan claimed four dismissals of the opponents.
Karachi Kings now stand fourth in the points table while the Gladiators claim the sixth and the last position.
It was the second league stage match between the two franchises. Karachi Kings had beaten Quetta Gladiators by seven wickets on February 20 at National Stadium, Karachi.
Earlier, the PSL6 was postponed in March due to growing Covid-19 concerns in Pakistan. It was later rescheduled in United Arab Emirates which resumed on June 9.
