Karachi East District records highest covid-19 cases
KARACHI: The Sindh government has revealed that East district of Karachi has recorded highest covid-19 cases.
The Sindh Chief Minister, Murad Ali Shah in a Coronavirus Task Force meeting said “143 people have died only in a month, May”.
Moreover, 123 covid-19 contracted patients are on ventilators of which 19 are at home. There are 664 ventilator beds in Sindh and presently 58 of them are occupied.
The Karachi East has recorded 26% of positivity ratio of corona virus. Whereas, Karachi South and Karachi Central records 17% and 14% respectively.
However, the positivity rate in Malir – 11%, Hyderabad – 11% and Sukkur – 12%.
The chief minister has instructed the health department to reopen the Covid-19 ward at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital as 43 people died from the virus amid May 10 and May 16.
