Karachi court throws out Dania Shah’s bail plea in ‘obscene video’ leak case

A Karachi court on Friday once again rejected the bail petition of Dania Shah, ex-wife of televangelist late Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain, in the obscene video leak case.
A day earlier, Judicial Magistrate Mukesh Kumar reserved the verdict after hearing the arguments of the both parties on Dania Shah’s bail plea.
Today, Judge Mukesh Kumar rejected Dania Shah’s bail petition while pronouncing a reserved verdict.
On December 15, Liaquat’s former wife was arrested by FIA Cybercrime Wing (CCW) from Lodhran on charges of allegedly leaking the deceased’s indecent videos.
The case was registered under sections 20, 21 and 24 of PECA Ordinance 2016.
During the inquiry it was revelaed that Dania Shah recorded obscene videos of the decased to humiliate him.
Dania filed for divorce at the same time that Liaquat’s personal videos were made public. The teen, who claimed to be his widow after his passing, demanded a share of his property.
