Two people were injured including a Chinese citizen as unidentified men opened fire at a car in Karachi on Tuesday.
According to rescue officials, the incident took place near the Kamila stop on the Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Road, Lyari.
The Chinese national was identified as Jason while the second injured man was identified as Khalid who was a passerby according to the police official.
However, the police have informed that Jason is out of danger now but Khalid, who was shot in the stomach, is in critical condition.
Preliminary investigation shows the firing incident was a “targeted” attack, said South DIG Javed Akbar Riaz as quoted by Geo News.
Moreover, the ill-fated car belonged to the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) of Karachi’s District South.
According to the DIG, the Chinese team has an office in Karachi and makes different visits in the city with the SSWMB team and the police was not aware of this visit.
