K-Electric CEO, chief distribution officer granted bails in electrocution cases

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday granted protective bail to Chief Executive Officer of the K-Electric Moonis Alvi and Chief Distribution Officer Amer Zia in the cases pertaining to deaths due to electrocution in Karachi.
The source said the high court had approved protective bails for one week against surety bonds worth Rs50, 000.
The SHC directed both the chiefs of KE to cooperate with the trial court.
An FIR was lodged against KE officials over electrocution of Faizan Ahmed, 22, on Aug 11 in Defence Housing Authority Phase VII area. Faizan had arrived in Karachi on a visit from Mansehra.
Uncle of the deceased alleged that the young boy entered a substation of the KE and got electrocuted.
