 Justice Ayesha Malik takes oath as first woman judge of the Supreme Court

ISLAMABAD: The first woman judge of the Supreme Court Justice Ayesha Malik has taken oath of office. Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed administered oath to Justice Ayesha Malik. 

According to reports, the swearing in ceremony was held in hall of the Supreme Court building in which all the judges of the Supreme Court participated. Justice Ayesha Malik will remain a judge of the Supreme Court till 2031. 

Justice Ayesha Malik served in the Lahore High Court for almost 10 years. The Judicial Commission had on January 6 recommended the appointment of Justice Ayesha Malik, after which the parliamentary committee also approved her name.
