Joyland’s Ali Junejo bags Best Actor Award at the Palm Springs Film Festival

Actor Ali Junejo won the Best Actor award for Joyland at the Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF).
Taking it to Instagram, the PSIFF announced the great news. They wrote: “The winner of the FIPRESCI Prize for Best Actor in an international film is… Ali Junejo in Joyland!”.
Through a video message, Ali Junejo expressed his gratitude and excitement over receiving this honourable award.
“I’m really humbled, this is a huge honour. I am so proud that our little baby, Joyland, has gotten where it has. It’s been around the world and it’s been getting so much love from so many people. It’s really touching”.
“I remember when we were making this film in Gawal Mandi, we just wanted to tell this story as honestly as possible. And look at where we are; the fact that I am doing this, the fact that we are shortlisted for the Academy Awards, it is the most amazing thing”.
While thanking all the cast and crew of Joyland, Ali said, “This is for all of us”.
