 “Joyland” receives a standing ovation at Toronto Film Festival

Saim Sadiq’s Joyland has achieved another milestone as the film got screened at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film received an immense amount of appreciation and a standing ovation from the audience. 

Khoosatfilms shared this news on Instagram and wrote, “After making waves at Cannes and the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, Joyland continues to achieve prestigious milestones, now marking its North American premiere at the esteemed Toronto International Film Festival @tiff_net. The film is scheduled to screen from 8th-19th September in theatres, including one digital show”.

Taking to Instagram, actress Sarwat Gillani who is also the part of film Joyland also shared the video from the screening and wrote, “Joyland does it again! Standing ovation at TIFF”.

Sania Saeed also shared the picture of the whole team Joyland on her Instagram handle.

Directed by Saim Sadiq, Joyland features Sania Saeed, Alina Khan, Sarwat Gillani, and Ali Junejo as the main characters of the movie. Film Joyland tells the story of a patriarchal family that yearns for the birth of another boy. Meanwhile, their youngest son secretly joins an erotic dance theatre and falls for an ambitious trans starlet.
