“Joyland has achieved for Pakistan what no other film was able to”: Alina Khan
Though Saim Sadiq’s Joyland didn’t make it to the Oscars nominations, the film’s lead character Alina Khan said that the film has already achieved a lot for Pakistan.
Joyland became the first ever Pakistani film to have been shortlisted for the Academy Awards but it didn’t make it to its first Oscar nomination in the International Feature Film Category.
Taking to Instagram, Alina Khan or famously known as Biba from Joyland feels grateful to be part of the film which made it to the top 15 films at the Oscars out of 100s of films.
Alina wrote, “we didn’t make it to the top five but I am super grateful for this journey. Joyland has achieved for Pakistan what no other film was able to”.
In the end, Alina congratulated the entire team of Joyland for making the country proud over and over again.
