Joe Biden nominates Pakistani-American as a federal judge

A Pakistani-American, Zahid Quraishi has been nominated for the position of federal judge in the US District Court by President Joe Biden.
Zahid Qureshi has already been a magistrate for three years.
He has been a military prosecutor and achieved the rank of captain in the US Army Judge Advocate General Corps, deploying to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004 and 2006, the White House said.
Moreover, he has worked with the Department of Homeland Security then served as a federal prosecutor in the District of New Jersey.
The American-Pakistani Public Affairs Committee praised and thanked President Biden for the initiative.
Quraishi is among Biden’s first 11 judicial nominees that also include three black women.
“This trailblazing slate of nominees draws from the very best and brightest minds of the American legal profession,’ Biden said in a statement that emphasized their “broad diversity of background experience and perspective.”
