MALAKAND: Responding to Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar’s offer of serving him refreshment, Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) President chief Maulana Fazl ur Rehman has said that it was unfair that you ate Papa John’s pizza yourself and offered him just tea and water.
Addressing the PDM rally in Malakand, the Jamiat Ulema e Islam-F (JUI-F) president said that the masses had to decide whether they wanted to stage the sit-in in Islamabad or Rawalpindi.
A day ago, to a query about Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) chief Maulana Fazl ur Rehman’s hinting about the opposition parties’ marching towards Rawalpindi, Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar had said that he could not understand about Maulana Fazl’s motive behind that. However, he said, if they came they would be served tea and water.
Maulana Fazl said that the armed forces should clear their position as Prime Minister Imran Khan had many a times said that army stood behind him. “Army is a key institute and we consider it inevitable for the state,” he said.
On inflation, he said people were unable to find medicines at hospitals, while prices of medicines had multiplied up to 400 percent. He said the nation had to encounter an illegitimate ruler, who should be held answerable for the foreign funding.
“Islamabad itself could not find peace because of the ‘incompetent man’. The state institutions are constantly failing in tribal areas. Ulema and tribal people, specially youth are being martyred,” he said.
