BEIJING: Addressing a gathering of big Chinese investors, industrialists and businessmen in Beijing, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday said it was the time to come to Pakistan for investment.
“There are five reasons to invest in Pakistan. Pakistan is one of the most strategic located places in the world. We have a population of 220 million people. Unlike China, 60 percent of Pakistanis are below the age of 30, which makes it one of the youngest populations. We have started economic revival reforms as well,” he said on this occasion.
He said Pakistan had made the biggest stride in creating ease of business. “In the world we are number eight in making the biggest advances in creating ease of doing business.”

He said Pakistan was specially focusing on establishing economic zones. He said Pakistan would love the Chinese investors to make investment in textile, because Pakistan is one of the biggest producers of cotton, IT and financial services, physical and technological logistics, food processing and agriculture, tourism and hospitality.
“Pakistan is the most untapped tourist potential place in the world.” He said Pakistan was one of the most sought after places for religious tourism.
PM Khan said Pakistan had initiated policy for companies to come and drill for oil reserves. Security situation in Pakistan has improved, thanks to our intelligence agencies and security forces.
The prime minister also said that Pakistan needed to learn from China. Four hundred ministerial level people who committed corruption had been put behind bars in China, he said.
“It is most important for Pakistan and the world because if you have corruption you cannot develop your country,” he said adding that China was the fastest developing country in the world. He said in 30 years, China had brought 70 crore people out of poverty. He said China achieved this after purging itself from corruption.
