ISPR pays tribute to martyrs, ghazis by releasing fifth video

ISLAMABAD: Director General Inter Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Major General Babar Iftikhar on Tuesday paid tributes to the martyrs, ghazis and their loved ones for indomitable national spirit, patriotism and valour for rendering sacrifices to safeguard the motherland.
The director general took to microblogging website Twitter to share a special tribute video depicting the martyrs and their families showing insurmountable resolve to defend the country at all costs which is the fifth video in the series showing different life accounts of the families of martyrs and ghazis with the title “Defence & Martyrs’ Day.”
He wrote on his official account, “Salute to the martyrs, ghazis and all of the relatives belonging to them. Martyrs of Pakistan, our pride.”
The tweet was followed by hashtags #6September #ShuhadaKoSalam.
Earlier, the ISPR DG in his news conference announced that this year’s Defence and Martyrs’ Day theme was “Our martyrs our pride, salute to all the relatives belonging to the ghazis and shaheeds.”
He said the ceremony for this year would be held under strict COVID-19 protocols with full national zeal and fervour.
On July 19, Security Forces had conducted an Intelligence Based Operation in Senai Narai area of South Waziristan District on reported presence of terrorists.
According to the media wing of armed forces, Inter Services Public Realtions (ISPR), during intense exchange of fire with terrorists, 20 years old Sepoy Junaid, resident of Balakot in district Mansehra, had embraced shahadat (martyrdom).
On July 15, two Pakistan Army personnel including a Captain had embraced martyrdom when terrorists targeted the security forces using an improvised explosive device (IED) in Khuda Bux Bazar near Pasni in Balochistan.
The martyred personnel had been identifed as Captain Affan Masood and Sepoy Babar Zaman, media wing of armed forces, the Inter Services Public Relations had reported.
On July 5, three soldiers of Pakistan Army were martyred and one other got injured in a terrorist attack in North Waziristan.
Government sources had revealed that the attack took place in village Hassan Khel of tehsil Speen Wam.
