A mosque and madrassa, Bab-ul-Islam, located in the F-7 sector of Islamabad, were sealed on Wednesday after seven people in the region tested the novel coronavirus as positive.
Qayam Ali Shah, the father of the khateeb (the person who delivers the sermon), had passed away from the deadly virus three days ago.
Following this, police took his story out and began interviewing those who had met him. So far seven people have tested COVID-19 positive.
Persons who visited the mosque recently are also being identified, and are being checked. The mosque and the madrassa next to it have been shut down to prevent the pandemic from spreading, according to officials.
