ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has granted former president Asif Ali Zardari bail on medical ground in money laundering and fake accounts case on Wednesday.
The IHC has directed the ex-president to furnish bond worth 10 million rupees. He would be shifted from Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Islamabad, to Karachi, where a special ward has been prepared for him in National Institute of Cardio Vascular Diseases (NICVD), the sources said.
NAB Prosecutor Jahanzaib Bharwana read the medical report to the court. The report has recommended angiography of the suspect. “Angioplasty could also be required for inserting the stent,” the report said.

Addressing media in Islamabad, while flanked by sister Aseefa Zardari, Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Zardari has thanked the judges for the medical bail of his father.
“The medical report is deeply concerning for us as the illnesses identified in this are serious, therefore we want him to get treated immediately. He also criticized the government and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for creating hurdles in the medical treatment.
Earlier, Bilawal had said that his father would be treated in Karachi if got the bail.
Zardari’s health condition is unstable as he is having difficulty speaking due to heart problems, reported media sources on Wednesday.
According to hospital sources, Zardari’s fast heart rate is also causing issues for him to walk.
