The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has granted pre-arrest bail to PTI Chairman Imran Khan till September 01 after he was booked under the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) for threatening an additional sessions judge Zeba Chaudhary and senior police officers of the Islamabad Police at a rally in the federal capital’s F-9 Park.
Roads on all four sides of the judicial complex have been cordoned off, no unauthorized persons allowed to enter while 1400 police and FC personnel have been deployed.
Today’s hearing began with Imran’s counsel, Babar Awan presenting his arguments.
Awan contended that none of the three individuals who Imran was accused of threatening at the Islamabad rally was a petitioner in the case.
Instead, Magistrate Ali Javed was the petitioner, he added.
Awan said a mere statement saying “have some shame” was being presumed as a threat.
