Ishaq Dar to return to Pakistan today to lead finance ministry

Senior PML-N leader and former finance minister Ishaq Dar will end his self-exile in London and return to Pakistan along with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in his plane today to lead the key portfolio of the finance ministry.
As decided by the Pm Shehbaz and Nawaz Sharif, Ishaq Dar will assume charge as the finance minister on Tuesday, September 27.
Yesterday, PML-N leader Miftah Ismail has resigned from the post of federal finance minister on the directions of party supremo Nawaz Sharif.
Senior party leaders met ex-finance minister Miftah Ismail at Nawaz Sharif’s residency in London, where he verbally tendered his resignation to party’s supremo.
In the statement issued after the meeting, it was confirmed that Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif nominated Ishaq Dar as the Finance Minister.
Later, Miftah Ismail tweeted on the social networking website that today he verbally resigned as the finance minister in a meeting with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Pakistan Muslim League (N) supremo Nawaz Sharif.
He said that I will formally resign after returning to Pakistan.
“It’s been an honour to serve twice as Finance Minister. Pakistan Paindabad,” Ismail added.
