Ishaq Dar confirms his return to Pakistan next month

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader and former finance minister Ishaq Dar confirmed that preparations for his return to Pakistan were underway.
Speaking to a British broadcaster, Dar said that plans to return to Pakistan were “almost confirmed”, adding that he will take oath as a Senator upon his arrival in the country.
Ishaq Dar went to London for treatment in 2017 and also resigned from the Ministry of Finance while the accountability court was hearing a corruption reference against him by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
“Treatment of a number of health problems is expected to be completed in the next 10 to 12 days as doctors are hopeful that their treatment will be completed in a few days,” he said.
Referring to the cases, he said, “There is only one case against me in Pakistan which is a fake case filed by Imran Khan.”
Asked about taking charge of the Foreign Ministry, he said, “It will not be up to him to take charge of the Finance Ministry, but it will be up to his party and leadership to decide who should be given what responsibility.”
Earlier, sources told that Ishaq Dar is likely to return home in the third week of July.
