Is it a sin to have dark skin tone in Pakistan?

Pakistan is a country of diverse religions. People of different cast, religion, language live together and enjoy equal rights. When these factors do not matter to anyone then why does complexion?

In the past, America was divided into two groups — White Americans and Black Americans — where the white ones were called the superiors. The discrimination ended right after the civil war in 1865, but this discrimination is not ending in Pakistan.

Throughout our life we have seen advertisements of fairness products on our televisions, billboards, newspapers or any other medium featuring a fair complexion woman or a man but why not a dark complexion one? We have labelled different countries as “racist” but what are we?
According to a research, the market of fairness products in Pakistan are at the boom. Fairness creams and fairness bleach creams are taking the shape of fairness injections, tablets and lasers to achieve desired beautiful white skin.
People portray themselves as proud Pakistanis, who love their language, culture and traditions yet can not own their dusky complexion. Believe it or not, in Pakistan a dusky person is often made the center of all jokes, friends may even mockingly refer them as Bengali or Sri Lankan.
Problems Faced By Dark Skinned People in Pakistan
We idealize western culture in every aspect but will not find any obsession for fair complexion there! They have tanning salons but not fairness salons. People go through different problems and difficulties just because of their complexion. Here is a rejection list faced by the dusky
1- Marriage rejection
2- Job rejection
3- Media industry rejection
Solution:
You will not find any remedy to get a fair complexion as a solution here. You will have to love your self first and then to raise your voice against this to end this “racism.”
