Trash is one of the major problems Karachi have. The city of lights is the most populated as well as the most polluted city of Pakistan. City’s roads, streets and even gutters are filled with garbage. But we can not only blame the management, people who litter are equally to blame.
Due to no proper trash management system in Karachi, people has destroyed the beauty of the city by throwing garbage at the corner of their street or road. Unfortunately, they have not even spared Karachi’s most visited beach, Sea View. The amount of harmful trash people throw at sea view is alarming. It is just not polluting the environment but also destroying the sea’s ecosystem.

To stop people from littering the beach, Defence Housing Authority (DHA) has installed a big fish-shaped trash bins at Sea View. Citizens started praising DHA’s initiative to tackle pollution after pictures of the bins started ciruclating online.

Although, the idea of putting gigantic fish-shaped bins is creative and innovative but it is not giving good impression. The marine life is already suffering a lot because of the waste dumped into the sea. It is currently estimated that at least 267 species including 84% of sea turtle species, 44% of all sea birds species and 43% of all marine mammal species have been affected.

Now imagine how you will feel after seeing that huge fish-shaped bin full with trash?
