Iran’s coronavirus death toll reaches 2,757
TEHRAN: Death toll from coronavirus has increased to 2,757 with 117 new deaths in the past 24 hours in Iran.
A health ministry spokesman told state TV on Monday, that the total number of cases has climbed to 41,495.
More than 33,000 people have died from coronavirus infection worldwide and the number of confirmed cases passed 700,000 on Monday.
According to AFP tally, more than 3.38 billion people remain under lockdown.
US President Donald Trump has said coronavirus guidelines such as social distancing will be extended across the country until at least April 30.
Speaking during the latest coronavirus Task Force press briefing in Washington, the president said that measures such as social distancing were the way to win and US would be well on its way to recovery by June.
