TEHRAN: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa called on President of Iran Hassan Rouhani in Tehran, reported the ISPR on Tuesday.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that concerns in the meeting related to mutual interest and regional security environment.

Iranian President admired the role of Pakistan towards regional peace and successes of Pakistan Army to combat terrorism.

At an earlier time, Army chief met Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Admiral Ali Shamkhani and Army Chief Major General Abdul Rahim Mousavi.

During the meeting, regional security environment and bilateral cooperation were matters of concern, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Gen Bajwa landed in Iran on an official visit on Monday, said the military’s media wing.
