LAHORE: The Punjab government has decided to take action against the police officials posted at Greater Iqbal Park for their negligence on the Independence Day which led to molestation of a TikToker girl.
Punjab government spokesperson Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan said Chief Minister Usman Buzdar had directed to take action against the negligent police officers and personnel in the Greater Iqbal Park case. DIG Operations Lahore, SSP Operations Lahore and the concerned SP and SHO have been suspended, while 20 culprits involved in the incident have been arrested so far, he maintained.
The Punjab CM had issued these directives in a meeting which was attended by Fayyaz, Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat, Inspector General Punjab Inam Ghani and other senior officials.
The government spokesperson apprised the meeting that the Punjab police was tracing more culprits with the help of forensic science agency and National Database Regulatory Authority (NADRA).
Meanwhile, the medical report of the affected girl, Ayesha Akram, has also transpired. The report revealed that bruises and scratches have been found on body of the girl.
