IOJ&K administration imposed curfew in Srinagar Ahead of First Anniversary of Revocation of Article 370
Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir administration enforced a curfew in Srinagar with immediate effect.
The authorities said the decision was made taking into account possible brutal fights on August 5, the commemoration of the renouncement of Jammu and Kashmir’s unique status under Article 370.
Srinagar District Magistrate Shahid Iqbal Choudhary said that the curfew will come into power with immediate effect and will stay enforced on August 4 and August 5.
Choudhary said any mass gathering would also be detrimental to efforts related to the containment of COVID-19.
