Instagram to bring retweet like feature to make reposting easier

Meta-owned social media platform Instagram is releasing a feature similar to Twitter’s retweet option with a focus on sharing video stories. This new feature in the form of a repost tab, will help Instagram users to share other users’ posts and videos on their profiles,
Instagram has started testing a new feature on the application, but the said feature has been available on Facebook and Twitter for years.
According to a technology website, some Instagram users have been given access to the ‘Repost’ feature and the company has confirmed that the said feature is being worked on.
According to the company, the feature is still in its early stages and has been given immediate access to limited users in other countries, including the US, but its testing will be extended soon.
Under the mentioned feature, Instagram users will be able to repost o re-share other people’s photos and posts on their timelines.
That is, just as one shares a Facebook post or retweets one’s tweet on Twitter, Instagram posts can also be shared.
Under the said feature, initially each user will be given the option to share or post limited posts, after which it will be made public.
Under the new feature, not all user posts will be shareable by other users, while the user may also be given the option to keep their post open for sharing by other people or not.
