ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar has said that the inflation rate in the country was declining.
According to Asad’s tweet, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of January has been lowered down to 5.7%. Whereas, the core inflation rate is at 5.4 percent now, he said.
“The rate of inflation is lower today than when the PTI govt was formed”, said Umer.
Earlier, Asad Umar discussed maintaining the momentum of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor for the completion of projects on time which will produce positive impact on Pak-China economic relations.
Moreover, the meeting was briefed on the overall progress of CPEC projects in Industrial Cooperation, Energy, Infrastructure, Gwadar, Science and Technology, Socio-Economic Development, Agriculture, Transport and Communications and issues faced in the implementation of these projects.
