Inflation and protests, old story but new alliance power show

The opposition alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) will launch protests against rising inflation from today (Friday).
After Friday prayers, protest marches will be held in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, and other major cities. These rallies will be led by leaders of the PDM component alliance and parties.
According to the reports, the demonstrations would take place in cities across the nation, including Lahore, Peshawar, Sargodha, Khushaab, Mianwali, Bhakhar, Jhang, Joharabad, and others in the Punjab province.
At 3 p.m., a rally will take place at Empress Market in Karachi. A demonstration will also be held from the Jain Mandir Chowk in Lahore.

Rashid Mehmood Soomro, secretary-general of the JUI-F Sindh, stated in a video message on October 20 that the PDM will begin rallies across the province on October 22 (Friday).
Maulana Fazlur Rehman, chairman of the JUI-F and the PDM, said he would travel to Karachi to lead a protest rally against inflation, and that the Sindh chapter leadership of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will also take part in the protest.
“The PDM will organise a huge protest rally at Empress Market in Karachi’s Saddar after Friday prayers on October 22,” stated the JUI-F general secretary.
Meanwhile, on October 20, the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) staged its first power show.
PML-N spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb said that the PDM will organise protests in several locations across the nation, with demonstrations in Mianwali and Bhakhar will take place on October 24.
