For the remaining days of September, Toyota Indus Motors Company has shut down the production of the vehicle due to continuous fall in demand.
“Sky rocketing prices on rupee-dollar account, parity coupled with additional custom duty on imported parts and raw material and high interest rates had price most of their vehicles out of the market. For the month of September half of the month is off.”– IMC Official.
According to sources, the IMC plant and countrywide dealership network has piled up unsold inventory of over 3,000 vehicles. The plant is running at 50pc capacity in September. Meanwhile, a Toyota vendor confirmed that IMC’s production would remain closed from Sept 20-30.
It is expected that Atlas Honda and as Pak Suzuki halts the products of some vehicles.
