Indian team likely to tour Pakistan for Asia Cup 2023 after 15 years
After 15 years, Indian cricket team is likely to visit Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023 after the clearance of Modi-led Indian government, confirmed BCCI secretary Jay Shah.
According to the Indian media, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the BCCI is scheduled on October 18, the agenda of which includes the visit of the Indian cricket team to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023.
An official of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) while talking to Indian publication said that, the tour is subject to government clearance.
“It will be subject to the clearance of the Government of India as always,” said Jay Shah when asked about the chances of India going to Pakistan for Asia Cup 2023.
Pakistan are scheduled to host the Asia Cup 2023 which will be played in a 50-over format following the 2023 ODI World Cup which will be played in India.
Notably, The Indian cricket team last visited Pakistan in 2008 for the Asia Cup.
