Indian Premier League suspended as players test COVID positive
The Indian Premier League has been suspended as players have been reportedly contracted covid-19.
Taking it to Twitter, Indian Premier League announced the suspension and stated “the Indian Premier League Governing Council (IPL GC) and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in an emergency meeting has unanimously decided to postpone IPL 2021 season with immediate effect.”
According to the IPL chairman Brijesh Patel, the decision has been taken for the safety of teams and stakeholders.
Earlier, Wriddhiman Saha was tested positive which resulted in postponing the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians.
