Indian musician Bappi Lahiri passes away

Famous Indian singer and musician Bappi Lahiri has died at the age of 69.
According to Indian media, Bappi Lahiri had been admitted to a private hospital in Mumbai for the past one month. He was discharged on Monday. On Tuesday, his condition suddenly deteriorated and he was rushed to the hospital again.
Bappi Lahiri suffered from a number of illnesses, but doctors said he died of objective Sleep Apnea.
Bappi Lahiri’s real name was Alokesh Lahiri. He was born on November 27, 1952 in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. His father’s name was Aprish Lahiri and his mother’s name was Bansari Lahiri.
Bappi Lahri won the hearts of millions with his music and songs in the 1980’s and 1990’s. Bappi Lahri sang not only in Hindi but also in Bengali, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
The Indian musician also stepped into politics but did not succeed. In 2014, he nominated for the Lok Sabha (Lower House) seat from West Bengal as a candidate for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) but was unsuccessful.
