Indian photojournalist Danish Siddiqui has been killed while reporting the clashes between the Taliban and Afghan forces in Kandahar region of Afghanistan, it emerged on Friday.
According to Indian media, Siddiqui had been covering the situation in Kandahar over the last few days when he was killed on Friday (today).
In 2018, Danish Siddiqui won Pulitzer Prize alongside colleague Adnan Abidi for his coverage of the Rohingya Crisis.
As a photojournalist, he captured some famous moments of the Nepal earthquake in 2015, the Hong Kong pro-democracy protests in 2019–2020, 2020 Delhi riots, the Indian farmers’ protests and Covid crisis while working for Reuters.
In his one of the last tweets, the photojournalist shared the moments he spent while covering the conflict.
