Indian gutka, betel nut being smuggled through ambulances into Karachi
KARACHI: Police have discovered that Indian gutka and betel nut are being smuggled using ambulances into Karachi.
Napier police carried out raid at Kashti Chowk and arrested three suspects involved in smuggling Indian gutka using an ambulance. One of the suspects was pretending to be a patient, Police said. They said the suspects had turned on siren of the ambulance to trick police. 0.35 million rupees cash has also been recovered from their possession.
Another ambulance was misused for smuggling betel nut. Senior Superintendent Police Muqaddas Haider said Mochko police recovered huge quantity of betel nut from ambulant and arrested the driver. He said the suspect was supplying betel nut in the ambulance. He used to smuggle through ambulance to escape unchecked from check posts established across the metropolis.
