India: Marriage rituals performed in PPE kits as groom tests COVID positive
In India, a couple tied the knot while wearing PPE kits (Personal Protective Equipment) as the groom was COVID positive.
According Indian Media, the couple performed all the marriage rituals under strict observance of COVID SOPs in Ratlam, Madhya Pardesh.
“The groom tested positive on April 19. We came here to stop the wedding but on request & guidance of senior officials the wedding was solemnized.” a Tehsildar as quoted by ANI. He added that the couple was made to wear PPE kits so the infection didn’t spread.
Moreover, India is currently facing a severe crisis in the shape of the second wave of COVID infections.
India has reported another world’s biggest single-day rise in COVID cases with record-breaking 360,960 cases in the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, the country has recorded 3,293 more related deaths in a single day.
