India is directly involved in Lahore blast: Govt officials

During a joint press briefing on Sunday, National Security Adviser (NSA) Dr Moeed Yousaf, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry and Punjab Police IG Inam Ghani said that the investigation related to last month’s Lahore blast revealed links to Indian intelligence agency, Research and Anlaysis Wing (RAW).
Terming it as “Indian-sponsored terrorism”, Dr Moeed Yusuf said the government had concrete evidence and intelligence including financial and telephone records that showed that the attack was orchestrated by India.
Adding his comments, Fawad Chaudhry stated: “Unfortunately, such incidents are happening continuously which prove it that Indian establishment and the current Indian government are fully supporting the network of terrorism in Pakistan.”
“We have the fakes names, real identities and location of the suspects because of efficient coordination between different agencies,” the NSA added.
Moeed further said that the identification of the main mastermind and the handlers was confirmed through “forensic analysis, electronic equipment which has been recovered from these terrorists.”
Later on, Prime Minister posted a message on Twitter, appreciating the “diligence & speed” of Punjab Police’s Counter Terrorism Dept in unearthing the evidence and commending the excellent coordination of all our civil and military intelligence agencies.
The premier wrote: “This coordination led to identifying the terrorists & their international linkages. Again, planning & financing of this heinous terror attack has links to Indian sponsorship of terrorism against Pak.”
The PM also asked the Global community to mobilise international institutions against this rogue behaviour.
Earlier, Law enforcement agencies (LEAs) had nabbed a foreign suspect named Peter Paul David from the Lahore airport, followed by the arrests of all potential suspects.
On June 23, a blast, reported in Lahore’s Johar Town, killed three people while injuring dozens.
It is important to note that the bomb blast had occured near the residence of Jamaatud Dawa head Hafiz Saeed which raised security-related concerns on social media.
