In Pics: Devastation of Islamabad due to flooding

Heavy rains last night wreaked havoc in different areas of Islamabad specially Sector E-11. Roads and bridges were damaged, while floodwaters washed away several vehicles.
A mother and her son expired as water entered their house in the morning in the federal capital. Officials on 15 helpline reportedly turned a deaf ear towards the call for help.
CDA Chairman Aamir Ahmed Ali said that staff was busy in draining out the rain water from streets of Sector G-7 and 8, while water from main arteries had been cleared.
Whereas, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that level of water in Nullah Lai has risen sharply and water had been accumulated in Sector E-11. It said that army personnel had arrived to assist civil administration in rescue works.

The ISPR said that an emergency had been declared to tackle any situation of flooding.
