In an unprecedented move, Imran invites PDM to hold talks over election date

PTI chief and former prime minister Imran Khan has invited the PDM-led government to discuss the possibility of early general elections in the country.
Addressing the Punjab’s parliamentary party, he claimed that government was willingly trying to create economical hurdles that will be difficult by the coming government to handle.
He said that the PML-N led government has increased the loans by four times compared to the period of 2008 to 2018.
“Pakistan has to pay loan installments, if the income does not increase, our ability to repay the loan will decrease,” he added.
Once again Imran Khan expressed fear that the PDM-led government will head the country towards default.
He raised the question over finance minister’s roadmap to lead the country towards prosperity saying, “Ishaq Dar assured the nation to fix the Moody’s rating and IMF deal but now he is sitting quietly.”
Imran Khan furthered that foreign investors will not invest in Pakistan, nor will commercial banks from abroad give loans to Pakistan as the risk of Pakistan’s default has increased by 100 percent.
Referring to his announcement to dissolve assemblies, Khan maintained that PTI has decided to dissolve assemblies just for Pakistan as the political stability in the country will bring back the country’s derailing economic situation to the normal.
“Political stability will come after general elections,” he added.
In his address he once again warned government of dissolving Punjab and KP assemblies if government will not announce snap polls.
Khan said, “Give us a date for elections or we will dissolve the KP and Punjab assemblies,” further adding that, “We have the full backing of PML-Q. CM Punjab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi will disband the provincial assembly on my call.”
Concluding his address former prime minister invited government to hold talks over the date of general elections in Pakistan.
On the other hand, federal information and broadcasting minister Marriyum Aurangzeb rejected the PTI chief Imran Khan’s invitation to hold talks over dates of general elections.
While sharing the picture of Imran’s invitation, she wrote: “October 2023”
