In a first, 12 KP women clear test for posts of patwaris

PESHAWARE: A historical change has taken place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s patwar culture as for the first time in the province women have cleared test for the vacancies of patwaris.
According to details, 12 women cleared the test for the administrative government position. A patwari is a village accountant appointed by the government in rural areas.
Senior Member Board of Revenue Zafar Ali Shah said that the provincial government had allotted 10 percent quota for women in the posts of patwaris, while women were being recruited on the open posts too.

“The appointments of female workers will cut the issues faced by women in the matters of succession and transfer of assets,” he said. For the first time in the history of Pakistan, women from KP are going to be a part of Patwar culture, he maintained.
He said after verification of educational credentials, selected female patwaris will be given training in this regard.
Zafar Shah also said that 120 new patwaris will be recruited in each phase.
