On Friday, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) granted interim bail to PM Imran Khan’s nephew Barrister Hassan Niazni in a case pertaining to an attack by lawyers on Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) last week.

As per details, judge Arshad Hussain heard the bail plea as Niazi along with his lawyer turned up before the court.
He contended before the court the he has no involvement in the PIC attack and the police has unlawfully named him in the case.
Niazi said he wants to join the police investigation to prove his innocence but fears his arrest as the police have been carrying out raids to arrest him.

After hearing the initial arguments, the court approved Niazi’s bail against a surety bond of Rs 100,000 until December 24.
The Lahore police had been looking for him since the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) attack. The police conducted many raids at various place to apprehend him but could not find him.

A group of more than 200 lawyers, who had an ongoing ‘tussle’ with the doctors of the PIC, had stormed the hospital last week, vandalized property and damaged dozens of vehicles.
Two FIRs were registered against over 250 lawyers who attacked Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) in Lahore.
