Imran Khan to contest upcoming by-polls from all 9 vacant NA constituencies

PTI Chairman Imran Khan has decided to contest the upcoming by-polls from all the nine constituencies that fell vacant after the National Assembly speaker, Raja Pervez Ashraf accepted resignations from his party’s MNAs.
In a statement released by PTI on the social media website Twitter, it was said that “PTI Chairman Imran Khan himself will contest the election from all the seats in the by-elections of 9 National Assembly constituencies to be held on September 25”.
Earlier, the Election Commission had released the schedule for the by-elections on September 25 for the vacant seats of the resigned members of the National Assembly of PTI.
According to the schedule, candidates can submit their nomination papers from August 10 to August 13, the documents will be scrutinized on August 17.
The list of nominated candidates will be released on August 14 and will be scrutinized on August 17.
The revised list of candidates will be released on August 26, after which candidates can withdraw their nomination papers till August 27.
The final list of candidates will be released by August 29 and the election symbols will also be allotted on August 29.
Earlier, the Election Commission had de-notified 11 PTI lawmakers on the notification issued by the Speaker of the National Assembly after accepting the resignations.
ECP has de-notified PTI National Assembly members on 9 general seats and 2 women reserved seats and a total of 11 seats have been declared vacant.
