Imran Khan terms Budget FY23 as anti-people, anti-business

PTI Chairman Imran Khan has termed the Shahbaz-led government budget for financial year 2022-23 as anti-people and anti-business and said that the budget is based on the ‘Assumptions’ of inflation and economic growth.
“We reject this anti-people & anti-business budget presented by imported govt. Budget is based on unrealistic assumptions on inflation (11.5%) & economic growth (5%),” Imran said.
He said that the Sensitive Prices Index (SPI) has reached 24% today and it is clear from the data that the inflation rate will be 25 to 30% which will drown the common man on the one hand and economic growth on the other hand due to high interest rates.
“Today’s SPI of 24% indicates that inflation will be between 25-30% which on the one hand will destroy the common man and on the other hand retard economic growth due to high interest rates.”
Imran Khan said that people friendly projects like our tax reforms, Sehat cards and Kamyab Pakistan are being shelved.
All our progressive tax reforms and Pro-poor programs such as Sehat card, Kamyab Pakistan are being shelved. It is an unimaginative, Purana Pakistan budget creating more burdens & misery for the nation.
Yesterday, the Shahbaz Sharif-led coalition government has unveiled the federal budget for the next fiscal year 2022-23 in the National Assembly with an outlay of Rs9.5 trillion on fiscal consolidation to contain a budget deficit.
