Imran Khan says Joe Biden can speak to him when he has time
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan in an interview with HBO Axios said that he had not talked to US President Joe Biden since he took the office.
“Whenever he has time, he can speak to me but at the moment clearly he has other priorities,” he further added.
To a query, PM Imran said that he would like to tell Joe Biden that the US had a big responsibility being the most powerful nation in the world. He said according to the UN Security Council resolutions, there should have been a plebiscite for the people of Kashmir to decide their own future. “(However), this has not taken place. If the Americans have the resolve and the will, this can be sorted out,” he added.
“The oppressed people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir are ignored by the West. Nine million people there have been put into open prison by about 800,000 Indian troops. One hundred thousand Kashmiris have also been killed in the illegally occupied territory,” he said.
To another query, Imran Khan said that Pakistan would absolutely not allow any of its bases or use of its territory to the US for any sort of action into Afghanistan.
He said Pakistan suffered 70,000 casualties more than any other country by joining the American war. He said we cannot afford any more military actions from our territory. “We will be partners in peace but not in conflict,” he maintained.
