Imran Khan called supporters to take to streets to celebrate victory today
Following the verdict of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, declaring the ruling of the Punjab Assembly’s deputy speaker “unconstitutional” and instating Pervez Elahi as the new chief minister of Punjab, PTI Chairman Imran Khan called his supporters to take to the streets and celebrate today.
In another tweet, the former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan said: “I appreciate our SC judges for standing firm and upholding the Constitution and law, against all manner of threats and abuse.”
He further thanked Barrister Ali Zafar and his team for fighting the PTI’s case in the Supreme Court. “I want to thank the people of Punjab for coming out in unprecedented numbers in by-elections against rigging,” wrote Khan.
On the other hand, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz also responded to the Supreme Court’s verdict to place Pervez Elahi as Punjab’s chief minister, removing Hamza Shahbaz from the province’s top office.
“Murder of Justice,” PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz said in a tweet, who had hours before the verdict asked the government to take a firm stand on the matter.
“Judicial Coup,” another tweet of Maryam Nawaz after SC dethrones Hamza Shehbaz as Punjab CM.
PML-N supremo and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif took to his Twitter to “salute the three judges”, who heard the petition of Pervez Elahi against Deputy Speaker Dost Mazar’s ruling.
“Order has made a mockery of Pakistan,” he added.https://twitter.com/NawazSharifMNS/status/1551972702755364865?s=20&t=-QTS1dpPzUodJ9OFcLBXoQ
