ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has finalized the name of Advocate Khalid Khurshid for Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister.
Saifullah Khan Niazi, chief organizer of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has said that PM Imran Khan has approved Khalid Khurshid’s name for Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister.
According to sources, the names of Advocate Khalid Khurshid and Fatehullah, a successful PTI leader from Gilgit-Baltistan Constituency 2, were sent to Imran Khan for Gilgit-Baltistan chief minister.
Advocate Khalid Khurshid has won from Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly constituency 13, Astor-1, on PTI ticket. Khalid Khurshid belongs to Ratto area of Astor district.
Election for the slot of Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan will be held on Monday (Nov 30). This was stated in a revised schedule issued by Gilgit Baltistan Assembly secretariat in Gilgit on Friday.
According to the revised schedule, candidates can submit their nomination papers on Monday at 11.30 in the morning.
Nomination papers will be scrutinized and published at 12 hours, while candidates can withdraw their candidature at 1400 hours.
After holding election in the assembly, the result will be announced at 1600 hours on the same day.
