Imran Khan announces to dissolve Punjab, KP assemblies this month

PTI chief Imran Khan on Saturday announced that the party will dissolve Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) assemblies this month if government will not give dates for snap polls.
Addressing the KP’s parliamentary party via video link, Khan reiterated that negotiations with government will only be held if they want to give dates for the general elections.
“The political stability in the country will bring back the country’s derailing economic situation to the normal and the political stability will come after general elections ,” he added.
Khan furthered that Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi has assured him of his willingness to dissolve the assemblies “whenever he wants”.
“Our members should prepare for the elections; soon we will announce the dissolution of the assemblies as the elections are the need of the country,” Khan said.
Earlier, in an unprecedented move, Imran Khan has invited the PDM-led government to discuss the possibility of early general elections in the country.
On the other hand, federal information and broadcasting minister Marriyum Aurangzeb rejected the PTI chief Imran Khan’s invitation to hold talks over dates of general elections.
While sharing the picture of Imran’s invitation, she wrote: “October 2023”
