The Ministry of Food Security has said that the first shipment of imported wheat will reach Pakistan next week.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Food Security, 380 private importers have been issued permits to import 1.576 million tonnes of wheat. Six liters of credit have been opened, two of which are being processed.
According to the announcement, 9 ships have been booked for about 65,000 metric tonnes by October 2020. The first ship will arrive on August 26 with 60,000 metric tonnes of wheat. The second ship, carrying 64,000 metric tons, will arrive on August 28.
The third ship will arrive in Pakistan on September 8 with 69,000 metric tons, while the fourth ship will arrive in Pakistan on September 12 with 55,000 metric tons of wheat.
