LAHORE: The philanthropist and humanitarian, Bilquis Edhi has been announced to be the ‘Person of the Decade’.
The international company, Impact Hallmark has declared Bilquis Edhi along with UN rapporteur on human rights Prof Yanghee Lee and the US ethicist Stephen Soldz, the most impactful person of the 21st century.
The contest was carried out among 20 top persons, objects and works, having far-extending impacts in diverse fields and extents of human accomplishments.
Moreover, Bilquis Edhi runs a welfare trust which has rescued 42,000 unwanted babies. She has also been awarded the prestigious ‘Hilal-e-Imtiaz’, the Lenin Peace Prize, Mother Teresa Memorial International Award for Social Justice (2015), and the Ramon Magsaysay Award for Public Service.
On the contrary, Pakistan’s Prof. Aurangzeb Al Hafi has been listed in the ‘Top of the Top Ten’ for his scientific discoveries by Impact Hallmark. He ranked 6th position.
